Comes Into Question

Let the domestics begin! On what’s supposed to be a weekend of celebrating this country’s birthday. What better way to celebrate than having most of my neighbors arguing and screaming at each other. And it’s only Thursday afternoon. I can’t wait till Saturday night at about three in the morning. Now normally our neighbors are pretty chill, with mostly foot traffic being heard from kids upstairs. But on the occasional long weekend, you’re treated to everyone seemingly being mad at everyone else.

So instead of enjoying my usual silence in my office I turned up some classical music till even that begins to irritate me. That’s when I have to turn to my old friend Thelonious for creativity and inspiration. Nine times out of nine listening to him works. It was four in the morning when I woke up,  and I was not feeling very well. After a series of bad dreams I couldn’t go back to sleep. So I lay in bed doom scrolling waiting for my wife to get up around 6:30.

Still throughout the day my overall health and attitude haven’t gotten any better. So I took a two hour nap. Even now with my health issue somewhat resolved. My attitude hasn’t gotten any better. Especially considering what I’m hearing through the walls. So as you sit down to your Barbecues and fireworks, think of the rest of us that just assume wish you were at work. Leaving our grumpy old asses in peace. But with everything else in life, you got to learn to take the good with the bad. Especially if you’re going to live in a civil society. But lately even that comes into question.
