Filtered Sunshine

I stare down at my mismatched clothes which consist of red gym shorts and a brown t-shirt. It’s no wonder why I’m not a fashionista. Washing down my chemical breakfast with my second cup of decaf, I stare out into the smoky Canadian clouds overhead. On the windowsill my wife’s display of painted seashells shine in the filtered sunshine. I feel much better than I have in the past few days but with my bones still achy after a full night’s sleep.

Yesterday I wrote what my Google AI called a raw and honest story about the toll of my mental health journey. But I’m going to shelf it for now after writing three earlier stories dealing with the same subject. Right now I’m in a more reflective and optimistic mood. Where the world doesn’t seem so bleak and my more acceptable attitude is shining through. But you may say, haven’t you made it a point of pride to be as honest as you can. My reply is, yes, I am still being as honest as I can by tell you my mindset has improved.

So take from this no point conversation what you can. That humans are not just one dimensional creatures our emotions for the most part flow over many ends of the spectrum. So to call any particular group of people one-sided or one dimensional would be an insult to our own intelligence. So how about looking at life through the various shades of color that it really is, and quit labelling people, places, and things with such a broad brush. The world is more than just black and white, as the shells remind us, it’s a rainbow.
