I’m not as strong as I used to be, hell I’m not even as strong as the average 63 year old. But I do my damnest to keep myself upright if for nothing else but for my wife and son. The other kids are long past my area of influence and have long stepped into that era of knowing far more than I do. So I allow them to live in that fantasy world all they want, while I stay quietly entertained on the sidelines. Still life is just a volley of hard lessons, with each and every one of us knowing who’s really running the show. Still after a morning of wins and losses, my physical health is either about the same or getting worse. I haven’t even gotten a chance to the victories or strategize the defeats, when I got a late afternoon call from the surgery scheduler for my upcoming procedure. She informed me due to “unforeseen circumstances” my surgery has been postponed yet again for the fourth time. With no valid excuse other than it was last minute decision. But like I said, you take the good with the bad and you march on. At the moment I don’t know rather to be indifferent or mad, on speaker phone my wife pretty much covered the mad part quite well. I’m just sitting here writing for the first time today, after a long morning of driving to the three different doctors offices some 31 miles away. I brought a pizza for dinner and had two slices and I’m now drinking a small bottle of Gatorade on ice. I spent part of the afternoon watching our youngest grandchild play a little with her granny, while I just sat in the outdoor rocker. Now I am gathering all my notes from the various doctor’s and I’m working on my life plan for the next 3 months. All for the sake of myself and the one’s I’m still responsible for, while still waiting on the sidelines. #Sidelines #Participant #Active #Aware #ProjectManager
